Friday Fill-in #82

To see more great Friday Fill-in answers just click on the link above.

I must apologize for my recent absence from the Friday-Fill-ins. I returned home from my trip two weeks ago but it's taken me this long to get things back to almost normal (if there is such a thing!). I finally got around to answering the questions "close" to Friday. Hopefully next week I'll get them done before or "on Friday" at the latest. Anyway, here are my answers:

1. If I could be a fly on the wall I would probably get splatted by a big flying plastic swatter quickly as I'd be too busy easedropping on other's conversations.
2. Jealousy is a green-eyed monster and nothing destroys relationships faster.
3. When I see a shooting star my wish would be that we would finally win the lottery with one of the tickets hubby keeps faithfully buying and we could pay off the majority of our loans and then give friends and family some too (money, that is).
4. I'd rather be happy and making ends meet than unhappy & rich any day!
5. Certain songs when I hear them make me wanna get up and sing along and dance (Lord help the poor person listening!).
6. If time were in a bottle I'd be breaking the bottle real fast as I never seem to have enough time in a day.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to going to work & seeing my co-workers, my first night back since my trip, tomorrow my plans include visiting the Grand Opening of a friend's store and then getting some sleep before going back to work night shift again and Sunday, I am going to my mother's place with my family for my birthday supper, on the menu will be bbq'd hamburgers and ice-cream cake!

Fingernails

I was hoping to post a picture of my fingernails now so you could see for yourself how they look but apparently my computerblogger is still having a hissy fit and not uploading pics. :( So I"ll just tell you now that today marks 3 months since last time I bit my fingernails and they look awesome. I hesitate to say I've "quit" biting my nails but it is defenitly a work well in progress. that I hope continues. Funny, when I was trying to stop, I kept nibbling but after I gave up and stopped thinking about it....volia! :) Well gotta go and will try to post some pictures tomorrow if it lets me.

Long Time No Post

For those of you who do check my blog frequently, I must apologize for my recent episode of going AWAL. I guess since coming back home I keep "thinking" about writing but just never seem to get around to actually "doing" it. I've been trying all day to upload some pictures to my blog post with no success....hmmmmm #$%^&*...guess I'll just have to write stuff that doesn't involve or require pictures.

Upon reading my journal that I wrote while I was in New Zealand and looking at my pictures, I've been trying to figure out something that someone asked me. Actually it was my uncle while we were still in New Zealand, "So what is the one thing that has made the biggest impression on you so far?". I don't believe I answered him at that time as I wasn't sure and I still don't know if I can pinpoint just one thing in specific. So many things were awesome - going up the skytower, the waitomo caves, the cultural show at the museum, Kelly Tarltons underwater world, the ocean, sea and beaches, all the various botanical gardens, and animals, meeting my extended family (many of them for the first time) but I think that the one thing that really struck me was the vast array of varying landscapes in such a small area. It is stunning...defenitly God's Handiwork. Seriously, for the first week I was home, whenever I closed my eyes and /or fell asleep I'd dream of the lush green forests, palms, ferns, winding roads through the hills, snowcapped mountains, sprawling farmland, rocky fjords, peninsulas, waterfront, extinct volcanoes. I know that I saw such a small piece of NZ and there is so much more I have yet to see...and in the summer but although it was often in the rain, what I did see was enough to make me fall in love with "the country of the long white cloud" and wet my appetite for more.

Back To Reality

For those of you who don't already know, I returned home around midnight the day before yesterday, Friday July 4th. It was great to see my family again but I must say I was somewhat disappointed that my time in New Zealand seemed so short. Unfortunatley I haven't been able to get anymore pictures downloaded. I still haven't got them developed...something I want to do ASAP as everyone I talk to wants to see pictures. This weekend has been quite busy. Yesterday we went to Cliff's Uncle's 80th Birthday celebration and today we were at a baby dedication for a couple we met in nursing school followed by a buffet lunch. It is a Philipino family so as you can imagine it was no small thing. And tomorrow I'm back to work.

I must say I was very surprised when I came home to find that hubby has been a busy little beaver. He had a whole week with no kids in the house (Liam & Autumn were at Grandma's the first week while Wynn was finishing school). Perfect time for hubby to play all the Xbox games he wants but apparently all he played in the 12 days total that I was gone was about 15 minutes. So what did he do?...He steamcleaned all the carpets in the house (living room, stairs and 3 bedrooms)as well as the couches and the matresses (4) and he repaired the crack above my door that has been there since November and replaced the border. All my gardens are blooming and watered, the grass cut and the side of the garage painted (the stucco that we did not replace with vinyl siding).

It was so beautiful there..even in the winter and rain. I have so much to be thankful for here so I'm feeling a little guitly for wanting to still be there instead of here. I'm a proud wife and mother of 3 beautiful children, why do I feel like this? Is it wrong for me to feel this way?
